Happy New Year! - Celebration Cookies 2022

Happy New Year to all you lovely cookie-eaters and bakers out there! It’s good to be back for 2022, and we’re hoping to keep things fresh and new for you this year! We’re looking forward to see what 2022 has in store for us, what orders will come our way, and what fancy new cookie designs we can think up for you to enjoy!

January is the month of new beginnings as well as resolutions - do you have a New Year’s resolution ready and primed for 2022? Not sure what to aim for this year? Don’t worry, we can come up with a few ideas for you! Here are some humble New Year’s resolution ideas for you to get your mind thinking up one of your own!

  1. Have and Complete a Reading List!

Reading is good for the soul, and it relieves stress! Books stimulate your creativity and imagination, and every tale leads your mind away from reality just for a moment to wander various new worlds! Sometimes, escaping the stresses of life just for a while isn’t a bad thing, and you may learn a few fancy new words to add to your vocabulary while you’re at it! That’s why we think that you should make a reading list this year; practice mindfulness and improve your connectivity to your brain - and did you know that doing so lowers your blood pressure as well? It’s time to pull up a book and relax on your couch!

  1. Less screen time!

Every year, we grow more and more connected through the internet and social media, and there are often days where we find ourselves unable to just put down our phones or tablets - but not this year! This year, you should try to reduce the time spent on technology. It’s important to realize that not all of life is lived through a screen, and that not everything we see paints an accurate picture of someone’s daily life. Reconnect with the world by telling yourself not to get so attached to your smartphone. Put down your phone, turn off that television, and go enjoy the great outdoors and the company of your loved ones - you’ll learn to appreciate the smaller things in life that way!

  1. Volunteer!

Be it at a clean-up event, a place for the less fortunate, or even at an animal shelter - volunteering helps us make a difference in the world! Through meeting different people, you can be part of a community that’s dedicated to helping others and making life better for them. Volunteering can be incredibly rewarding, and with everything that’s happened in 2021, we think it’s a grand idea to help those around us back up on their feet. Gaining a sense of purpose and empathy for others will take us far in life!

  1. Write down things to be grateful for!

It’s so easy to get caught up in the daily grind of life and be worn down by it. A good way to combat this helpless feeling is to remind yourself of all the things in your life that you should be grateful for! Whether it’s that phone call you received from someone you care about last week, or the freshly baked cookies you ordered from Sugar Rush just recently - there is a silver lining in every day, and it’s good practice for you to find it. You’ll feel much better ending the day knowing this, and the last thing you think of when you go to bed is the thing that has made you happy today!

  1. Be kind to yourself!

Sounds simple enough, doesn’t it? However, we can be relatively harsh on ourselves when we set high expectations for us and the things that we do. For 2022, we believe that you should always be kind to yourself this year! If you’re kind to yourself, you will be kinder to others. You’ll learn to have more power over the way you feel, and you’ll eventually become a more positive person. This helps with one’s mental health - an important element in today’s day and age!
